How to convert a photo to black and white online

  1. Upload your photo by dragging it in or clicking to browse.
  2. Choose B&W for a classic monochrome look, or Sepia for a warm vintage tone.
  3. Drag the Intensity slider — at 100% the effect is fully applied; lower values blend with the original colour.
  4. Click Download to save your converted photo as JPEG.

Grayscale vs Sepia — which to use?

  • Grayscale (B&W) — removes all colour, leaving only luminance. Great for dramatic portraits, street photography, and architectural shots.
  • Sepia — replaces colours with warm reddish-brown tones. Evokes an antique, old-photo feel popular for weddings and historical edits.
  • Use partial intensity (e.g. 50%) to get a desaturated look that still retains some colour — a popular "faded film" aesthetic.
