How to convert a photo to black and white online
- Upload your photo by dragging it in or clicking to browse.
- Choose B&W for a classic monochrome look, or Sepia for a warm vintage tone.
- Drag the Intensity slider — at 100% the effect is fully applied; lower values blend with the original colour.
- Click Download to save your converted photo as JPEG.
Grayscale vs Sepia — which to use?
- Grayscale (B&W) — removes all colour, leaving only luminance. Great for dramatic portraits, street photography, and architectural shots.
- Sepia — replaces colours with warm reddish-brown tones. Evokes an antique, old-photo feel popular for weddings and historical edits.
- Use partial intensity (e.g. 50%) to get a desaturated look that still retains some colour — a popular "faded film" aesthetic.
